Fed Raises Key Rate to 3.75%-4%

The Federal Reserve has just raised its key rate by 0.25%, bringing it to the 3.75%-4% range—the first increase since July 2023. With inflation still above the Fed’s 2% target, it’s clear that another rate hike could be on the horizon this year. The Fed will meet again on October 27-28, 2026, to reassess the state of inflation and the broader economy.

Having guided Bay Area clients through many market cycles over my 20+ years as a Realtor and Real Estate Broker, I know how these rate changes can raise questions about home affordability and timing. My approach has always centered on understanding each client’s goals and providing clear, informed guidance—especially when the market is shifting. If you’re curious about how evolving rates might impact your real estate plans in Northern California, this is a good moment to stay informed and prepared.
